Quarantine Project: Change
This pandemic has forced me to stand back and look at the world around me, I am noticing things that I never would have noticed before and exploring new passions that I never had time for. I have been thinking a lot about how much this pandemic is affecting the world. I am so lucky to have a safe home with enough food and water, some people do have access to the simple resources I take for granted every day. As school has transitioned online I have also realized how much I depend on technology. While these thoughts are in my head I have been adapting to quarantine and social distancing. I make sure to have a schedule every day so I have some structure. I also have been going on walks every morning to get some fresh air before I start the day. During these walks I have been working on my DA project. I decided to focus my project on change as we have been experiencing that a lot recently with the virus. I took 21 photos from the same spot every day for a few weeks. I noticed many changes from the beginning of this project to now, the grass has gotten greener, the oak trees have bloomed and the lake has risen.
Clouds are also something that remind me of change, as they are ever changing. So I also decided to do a little study of clouds. I painted many different pages with clouds, using different colors and shapes to show change. People around the world are suffering and we are all struggling to comprehend what is going on around us, but we have to realize that this will pass and everything will be okay. We are living through a moment in history.

Logo Final Project
To complete this project I first drew the image that I was thinking of. I was working to make the FBI logos so I wanted my logos to have skulls, snow, and ice is incorporated. After I drew my logo I scanned them and traced them so they looked professional. Then, I made different versions of my logo including the Silverton mountains. Then I made my designs professional enough to show to the FBI clients and made a merch sheet so I could display my designs.

Teacher Creature

Reflection
I took digital arts through middle school and I did not really lean that much but throughout this semester I have already learned so many skills. I have learned how to use the warp tool and use layers to make sure that my Photoshop project looks realistic. My teacher creature uses drop shadow and extra layers as well as paintbrushes and fill and many other skills. I have learned a lot this semester and had a lot of fun in this class and I am exited to continue the year! |
Reflection
Overall through this project I have learned many skills in photoshop. I also learned about how important font is in the world. Halvetica for example is a type of font often used for advertisements and without it newspapers and websites would not be the same. I also learned about how colors effect fonts, a red font could bring up bad emotions and therefore might not be a good font to use in a title. Overall this unit has taught me how to correctly make fonts that are easy to read and interesting, keeping the reader interested.
Photoshop Project
To start I took the eye image and zoomed into the pupil. Then I cut out the eye and moved it onto a different layer. I took the image of the earth and I put the image over the eye cutout then I made the earth transparent and the eye and pupil show through. Finally, I blended the layers and made the final product.
To make this creepy American Girl Doll I first opened up the image then I changed the lighting to pin light and added different filters. For the eyes I filled the sockets with black and added a purple and white dot for dimension. I also did the same with the freckles. I changed the hue and saturation with the hair and made it black with purple highlights. Finally I changed the color of the lips to blue.
To make this fall text I first opened then image, then I chose a font that is big and bubbly so you could clearly see the image. The you move the image above the text layer so that the text is hidden. Then you move your mouse in between the two layers and hold alt. Then right click the image and you create clipping mask witch allows you to see the text. Finally you had depth and shadow to the text layer to make it pop off of the screen.
